Converting Gso 2" 2x ED Barlow to 3x with spacer?

Hi all.

I'm wondering if I can convert my GSO 2" 2x ED Barlow to roughly 3x by simply adding a spacer? If so what size spacer do you think would be required to get approximately 3x?

Thanks

Ben

Yep. My 2X gets slightly more image scale than my 3X by adding a 100mm extension tube. I've never measured the exact distance from camera sensor to barlow elements however, so 100mm is approximate.

It may vary from barlow to barlow too, not sure.

A good thing is that the GSO barlow cell thread is the same as all the GSO extension tubes. They come in 35,50 and 80mm. So plenty of spacing to play with and they'll fit inside a 2" focuser barrel so you don't have to stick the barlow out of the focuser and add unnecessary over hang on the focuser.
