First Jupiter for 2010 and a Venus

Hi All,

Set the Meade 10"er up on the G11 and took some planetary images, the first for this Jupiter season.

Venus was high in the sky, Jupiter was still below the horizon when I was setting up, so I grabbed a quick avi of Venus. She's a horny devil ATM.

Later in the evening, before the clouds rolled in, I got a decent shot of Jupiter, here they are.

Cheers
Stuart

Nice result Stuart, good to get a record of Jup for this apparition while it is still close to 50 arc sec's apparent dia.

Jup will move progressively further North over the next several years and wont be so favorably positioned for us again for some considerable time.

Cheers
Trevor

That's a great looking Venus Stuart! Was that before or after sunset?

Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stuart
They are fine images - your Venus is very crisp - well done!
A good session indeed!
