c11

good evening members
i have just received my much anticipated carbon fibre c11
when i unpacked it i went straight round to the business end
it has already been fitted with bobs knobs but at the front of the corrector it has written "fastar celestron"
now i do know what the fastar is but does this mean that my c11 is just "compatable" or has the change been made?
pat

I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong and someone knows better, but I would suggest that unless you have the other 'fastar' pieces to replace the secondary with then it is compatible "only"... I say "only" because with that scope it should be pretty painless I believe to fit a hyperstar. I don't think Celestron make the actual faster any more, but the hyperstar is available.

Congratulations BTW! I wish mine was fastar compatible.

Al.

There problably is a retaining ring on the front for the secondary cell so you can remove it easily and fit an hyperstar lens.

If it says "fastar celestron" on the locking nut/ring on the front, then you have a C11 that is already compatible with fastar/hyperstar and can replace the secondary with the hyperstar lens just be unscrewing the lock nut/ring and lifting the secondary out. All you need now is a hyperstar lens!!!

thanks a lot guys
i gather then that not all celestrons are fastar compatable
does it cost a lot of money to convert the beast if you wanted to?
even without the hyperstar lens attachment?

Couple $100s for the conversion kit which replaces your whole secondary cell.
