Recently spent three nights at Coolum, we had awesome weather and one awesome sunrise! Here's a shot from that morning http://www.redbubble.com/people/shel...-1-pastel-dawn, I hope you like it

Cheers,

Shell,

Now that's a great effort. There's nothing like pure light to paint your sensor with, is there?

Well framed and composed, and beautifully exposed -- great control.

The only thing that could have made it better is specular highlight detail sparkling on the rocky features. But, that's beyond our control.

This image just goes to show that you don't need thousands of dollars worth of equipment to make a fabulous image. You're doing this well with very modest equipment, that when you make the jump (if you decide to) to higher end gear, you will be in good stead to make full use of the features available to you.

I hope you've made a print for yourself of this one.

Well done and keep it up. I look forward to seeing more from you.

H

Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment! It was a beautiful sunrise, I think I was lucky enough to get such amazing clouds and then came that beautiful pink light It was one of those "wow, I've only been waiting for a year for a sunrise like this!" moments.

I see what you mean about the light on the rocks, would have been awesome if it was shimmering with water but at least I got the reflections of the pinks in the sky on the wet sand which I was really happy about.

I really appreciate your comment mate, I'd really like to get a 7D or a 5DMKii (or MKiii when it finally comes out!) but money is a big issue so what you said about not using really expensive, fancy equipment has really made my day and made me content with holding onto my 400D for a bit longer

Art work? Are you referring to post processing?

Here's another shot from the same morning http://www.redbubble.com/people/shel...light-dreaming

I'm considering getting this one as a large framed printed for my parents for Christmas.
