New Guinea Rosewood

Hi

Looking at selling a quantity of this lovely high grade cabinat timber,

I bought quite a bit for a job, which has now been cancelled, after being envolved with timber and furniture work for twenty years,i now only do woodwork when i really have to.The customer in this case has forfieted

thier deposit,I just want to move this on as its in my work shop,

It retails for $2300 per cubic metre,But i am prepared to sell it for less than half that rate. Its a very beautifull timber i will try and post some pics,

This buy, would suit someone in S.E QLD,who can come and look at it buy on site,

Sizes lots of 150mm by 50,some 200mm by 50mm,100 by 50 all kiln dried

If anyone is at all interested, plese P.M me.

Have attached a few pics to give idea of what it looks like,I want to sell in one large lot,not a bit here and there

thank you

Hey Chris, I know this may sound morbid, but I work in the funeral industry part time, and on two occasions to date we have buried persons in New Guinea Rosewood coffins, absolute beautiful timber.

re rosewood

Thats interesting Leon,i imagine the clients' were very well off to afford that luxuary, although i really think that been buried in anymore than a cadboard box,is sinfull, and such a waste.

I believe this timber handles being out in the weather very, very well, much of it is used in doors and windows.

I made some beautifull furniture out of it,once laquar is on its just devine!

I have'nt had any luck selling it any where,so i am planing on building

some entomologial storage cabinates,i will post some pics of the entomological storage boxes i currently have,i have collected insects all my life.

Anyhow thanks for your interesting story on this fine timber,i suppose really what i will do with it-is allmost the same-'insect coffins'

cheers

Yea mate I know it is sinful and a waste, but it is true, and there are even worse situations where persons are cremated in pure Black Wood Caskets.

They are in them for a couple of hours through the service, and buy the end of the day are a small box of ash.
