Just saw it on the telly - very impressive, not sure if I caught all he right details, but was the longest annular eclipse for ... (think they said millenium, but have had 3 champers!!) .... a looong time.

think you have to wait a 1000 years to get an annular of this duration.

However there will be an annular visible about 6 months after the Cairns total eclipse also visible in Queensland
