Star Party Clash

I notice that Snake Valley and Vicsouth are on the same weekend this year. As a resident in Western Vic it's a bit frustrating that I have to make a choice.

No fault of ours Malcolm.
We advertised the date of our Camp last year.

It's happened once before and some people attended both events

And just so everyone knows, the dates of our Snake Valley Camps for 2011 are:
4th - 8th March
and
25th - 29th November

2012

23rd - 27th March
and
16th - 19th November

Yeah, sorry Malcolm, 'fault' is probably a bad choice of words.

I know where the problem lies though.
We both need to use the dates closest to New Moon. For the November Camp the Month before is too cold and wet and the month after is Christmas.

SVAA is considering not holding too many more November Camps and maybe just put all our efforts into the March Camps.

This will make it more fair for the organisers of Vicsouth, but at the moment several people base their annual holidays around our November Camps.

So far sharing the same date has not really been a problem to either group.

It worked out well last year with Snake Valley in October and Vicsouth in November.

I appreciate the amount of effort that goes in to the Snake valley camp, but it would be a bit sad to only have one a year.

And I liked Vicsouth, but Snake Valley wins the gong for me.
