For Sale SBIG ST-7XME

I have for sale a ST-7XME which is the self-guided imaging camera and contains two CCD detectors; one for guiding and the other for collecting the image, it is also USB. It has been hardly used therefore in excellent condition. The asking price is $1500 + Postage and not negotiable, so please don’t ask. You will need to pay twice the amount for a new model.

Suitable for a Schmit-Cassigrain operating at f6.3

Anthony,

Could you let me know if this camera is suitable for a schmit-cassigrain operating at f6.3 (ie. with a focal reducer).

I am just starting to get in to astro-imaging (just purchased a Skywatcher EQ 6 mount with 10 inch Meade tube assembly) and plan to use my Canon 1000D initially. I wish to get a CCD camera eventually and this may be a suitable camera.

Many thanks,

Paul Floyd.

Hi Paul

It will work with a 6.3f focal reducer, I have used it with a 3.3f focal reducer and it worked fine.
