tripod for antique brass scope

For size the tripod is beside my scope which is 1.7 m high
the tripod is almost extended to its full height, it could be a little taller but I think it will be usable with your scope . ?
I'll keep the brass sight that attaches to the tube rings on my small refractor but the rest is yours .

Could you please let me know where the balance point is on your scope
by that I mean how far along the tube , better still show me in a pic exactly where and I'll make a adapter to fit it up .

If time is a little important You coud probably get someone else to do this as I may take a little while as I have a couple of ongoing family
issues .

If you have one of the newer versions of paint on your puter you can
resize your pics within by opening the image and drop down from the taskbar (image) and then select (resize /skew)adjusting down
down to 30% or so should get you close to the allowable file size.

Graham thanks so much for all this great info! The height sounds about right and I will figure out the balance point and let you know. I have been using Picassa for my photos which doesn't seem to have a resizing option. But I know photos are compressed when emailed thru Picassa so I've been emailing my chosen photo to myself and then using the compressed version to upload onto IIS! How's that for a convoluted process. Anyway thanks again and I'll get back to you on the other questions. Hope things with your family are okay.
Cheers

If you like, send the lot out to my place and I'll make an adaptor to
mount the scope for you. I have a bit of free time so no worries

Np's Judith,

I have some A grade Hoop pine ply which I brought to build a eyepiece
case, but ended up buying a pelican case instead. So it would be good
to put it to good use.

Hi Graham,

The tripod is just right and I have mounted the scope on it. As I thought the current mounting rings are a bit big but I took it out on to the back verandah for a look through last night. The lenses need a clean and the magnification is pretty low - probably only 12x or thereabouts - but I am really pleased!
