M7

l've been trying some extra long exposures to see how it effects noise levels. Thought l would post this to get a few of the gurus opinions so any thoughts appreciated.

Mick,

I'm a non-photo guru but I like your photo.
It's M7 (Ptolemy's Cluster), which is next door to M6. Easy mixup!

Regards, Rob

Nothing wrong with the picture Mick. A bit of field curvature which may require some experimenting with the distance between the 0.8 and the CCD to get the field nice and flat. A bit of a tweak in levels, another tweak in shadows and highlights and contrast and at worst a little adjustment to saturation and this will be a bottler.
Noise looks pretty dam good but darks will always take care of the worst anyway.
Hope this helps.
