Omega C from last night

Hi,

Omega Centauri from last night.
Seeing was only average and high, thin cloud spoiled it
later in the frame set.
This is with the new homemade worm and worm gear arrangement
attached to the scope. See the progress here:

regards,
Steve

Hi Steve, Looks pretty good, How does your gear perform on longer exposures? High cloud has been a major problem here for the last couple of months without a break. Images are only really available through sucker holes.

Keep at it Mate.

Actually Doug I can now stretch exposures out to 30secs at this
FL without too much star bloat.
On the previous spur gear reduction I could only manage 15-30s
on nights of excellent seeing.
However there is a down side. Because I use the 12" light bucket
I am nearly starting to clip stars inside 5139 for example after only
5sec exposures on the lum channel.
Here is the histo curve of 5319 after the curve has been applied.

I can't wait to try the new gear on 5128 and 253. I did a short set on
5128 last night but it wasn't my best.

Sorry about the weather Doug. We've had a few good nights here
lately but I've been crook with the flu. Hooray for remote desktop

regards,
Steve

Hmm nice target Clive...mag 9 barred spiral in Fornax.
It's about 20-30degrees up a few hours past midnight.
I'll put it on the to do list before the moon gets in the way

Steve
