Good work Rob.
Next step is to create an instrument response correction curve, and correct and normalise your spectra.

Well done.
Not to calibrate it.

M3 type giant star
Richard Walker has an annotated spectrum of M type on p66 of his freeware atlas.

Which camera QHY8? which exposure?
Certain a good beginning...

Thanks guys.
On another note, here is a spectrum of the sun, taken with the ASEQ CCD spectrometer.

The 50micron slit, Configuration D looks interesting.
Which one are you using? Have you tried it on a telescope?

It can be mounted to a telescope using a t-adapter, t to c-adapter and c to SMA adapter. The main problem I can see is keeping the star centered on the SMA lens. A very accurate mount is required.
I have
Configuration B:
Spectral range: 200 – 1200 nm
spectral resolution:
< 5 nm (with 200 um fiber)
< 2 nm (with 50 um slit)
This has the greatest spectral range.

You can use a flip mirror to find and position the star on the fibre....
A beamsplitter would be better that way you can guide as well.

I don't believe these instruments will work for star spectra - they are not sensitive enough to gather adequate photons.
I have tried a couple of times, but the amount of light from a magnitude 1-2 star was insufficient to resolve the peaks.
Someone else might have more luck.
They will work with the moon and sun though.
I mainly use my spectrometer for minerals.

Another solar spectrum with ASEQ
Another solar spectrum with the ASEQ Spectrometer, but with slightly more lens aperture.

Certainly shows the Na Doublet well...
Is the data file available? Fits format?

The data file is only available as txt file (spectra file). There is no image file obtained with these instruments. Next, to use longer exposures.

Annotated spectrum
Here is an annotated spectrum for comparison (from the web, unknown source). Taken with the Ocean Optics CCD Spectrometer
Plus a good wiki link explaining the Fraunhofer_lines.
