Anyone imaging with an Equinox 120 / EON 120 ?

Hi all,

I am quite interested in the performance of the Skywatcher Equinox 120 / Orion EON 120 especially in terms of astrophotography. I am currently imaging through my ED80 and guiding with the SCT as I just love the crispness you get with the refractor. However, I am wanting a larger image scale, hence the idea of the 120. I have read lots of absolutely positive reviews about the latest 120 offering ( more so from a visual perspective), but really hoping to hear from anybody out there that has been using one for AP purposes, especially in regard to CA and field flatness.

Look forward to hearing some feedback.

Cheers,

Daniel

Good question!

I would also be very interested in any feedback.

I'm sure with over 4500 members here you should not have any problem receiving a response.

I think your question is too specific for this forum, you might have better luck in CN.

Anyways, I will be watching with interest.

I have the Equinox ED120 but i am visual. I have a colleague in the South Island who has 3x Equinox's and does AP. He gets excellent results.

"I have been getting some AP time with mine recently and am extremely happy with the results. High contrast, completely flat field, pinpoint stars and virtually no in-focus CA."

[He does not use a focal reducer .]

Hope it helps - there is more on C.N. if you trawl thru the refractor threads.
