Hi All,
Saturday night at Linden was a 'failed' evening for me as an astro imager because I had issues with my USB set-up. Constant system crashes, mount wouldn't listen to EQMOD, guider kept dropping out etc. I think there's a bad connection somewhere. Need to find and fix.
The evening was made good by the great enthusiasm of Chris and Alex who were having a fantastic time with their new scopes under dark skies.
Add to that, the valuable experience and assistance of Bob Evans (Supernova hunter) who gave us a galaxy tour through his 16-inch dob. A link to Bob's latest discovery

Astro imaging was really not all that important. The cosmos will still be there next month!
Anyway, here is my result for Saturday night. A single 300s sub of IC2944, shot through haze just before thick cloud set in around midnight. The image has been stretched to blazes and is somewhat noisy as a result, but I submit it as a demonstration of what can be achieved even under difficult conditions. Never ever give up I say!

The image looks OK on my laptop screen but may too light on other monitors. Please let me know for future reference!
