Celestron C-11 Ota

I am thinking of perchasing a celestron c-11 ota.Does anyone have a review on it?Can i fit 2" eye peices to it?

Yes.

I think any of the larger Celestrons can have adapters that will allow 2" eyepieces. I have a Meade motofocuser on the back of my OTA wih has a 2" ring - which connects to a Bintel 2" 90 degree mirror that connects to either a 2" eyepiece natively or steps down with a insert to a 1 1/4" eyepieces.

Yes, you can. You can either get something that screws to the back, or I have attached a WO crayford focuser. You will notice a bit of image shift when focusing, but if you use this for the coarse focus and the crayford for fine, you will get a very smoth movement. I have a 30mm and 40mm Pentax which are both 2"...no problems.

thanks for the info.Noticed you have a c-11.I have a skywatcher mak 150 on eq6.Thinking of upgrading to a c-11.Do you think it would be a good upgrade?

Richard,

I have a C9.25 and a MAK 127mm - so if the same order of improvement is achievable - you'll be delight with what the large aperture and resolving power brings - given good skies and a capable mount of course!
