Why not try downloading Stellarium and use the time feature to advance the time and have a look around. You could take a few screen dumps to take with you, pre printed, or install it on a lap top. Or perhaps a planisphere may be a worthwhile investment.

Try dso browser.com
Pretty good, gives best available targets with transit times to help.

I use observer pro. Its brilliant IMO, but is a paid for app. Works on iPhone and Mac, not sure about Android and PCs.

Another good one, and the best app for tablets and phones IMO is SkySafari. I use the plus version which was $10 (I think?) Not sure if the free one offers the same but it has observing lists that will highlight various objects.. eg all deep sky, Messier objects, planets and comets, "best of" for the current night, etc.

He I can observer pro be used without phone service such as 3G? I downloaded it and looks great but in the bush I get no service. If it works off gps that would be amazing

Could you try putting your phone into airplane mode and see what happens?
