Overseas ordering

Well, I have changed my mind about the people I use OPT, they have shot themselves in the foot this time. I ordered and paid for a Kendrick dew system and straps almost 2 weeks ago. I still had not heard from them, so just rang and the package is still in their shipping department, it was packed and set to go 8 bloody days ago and has not moved, not good enough, needless to say they wont be getting any more business from me.
Just venting my spleen here, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Old Fart,
I have used Scopestuff for heated strips, and found Jim to be excellent. No doubt others will have used other dealers as well.
But 8 days sitting isn't good enough I agree.

It really isnt, I sent 3 emails and made a couple of calls to them, not very professional. They used to be fantastic.

Sounds like another shop in Sydney that does the same ,only they leave you waiting for months before they do anything .

I've had problems with lack of communication with OPT before. Makes their S&T adds look like a joke. I don't use them any more.

I bought a William Optics 2" non-dielectric SCT diagonal from OPT. It arrived without the 2" brass compression ring. I brought that to their attention and they were extremely apologetic and were going to 'look into' sending me a compression ring...

After about 6 weeks of waiting/emailing/waiting/emailing I got in touch with William Optics directly. They sent the item directly from China. They also reminded me that their dealers are not supposed to ship overseas!

I still haven't heard anything from OPT...

...and I have to agree with gbeal... Jim from Scopestuff is terrific and they have a great range of wierd and wacky hard-to-find-anywhere-else stuff!

In the past I have purchased a lot of accessories from OPT and they have been excellent. I have just received an email back from the Boss of OPT after having given them a " rocket". (a Mr Weatherwax). He is going to look into what went wrong. One would have to give them the benefit of the doubt at this stage. I must admit up until now they have been 1st class. At least I have had an acknowledgement that there appears to have been some sort of stuff up and they are willing to make amends, this being the case, all I can say is that they are definitely worth giving a 2nd chance. Time will tell. The last thing I want to do is burn the bridges, so to speak. I will keep people informed.

Sorry for being an angry old fart, but I dont like getting messed around, life is too damn short.

Thats not good Peter, I have sent my mum to get some EP's from them while she is over in the States. She lands in LAX sometime late tonight. 13 hour flight from Sydney, they left Adelaide at 6.00 am this morning. Maybe i could get her to bring it back for you. She won't be back in Adelaide until the 29 of June though.

Keep harrassing them.

Heres another vote for Skies unlimited. I emailed both Skies and OPT weekend before last re a price on a 24mm panoptic. Skies replied next working day, and OPT havent responded yet.

I'm finding all dealers advertise the exact same price for Televue eyepieces. I think they are bound to that by a dealer agreement.
$295US in this case plus $28 shipping insured and traceable.
