NGC 5139 Omega Centauri

Hi Guys, well the weather has been crap for ages but i suppose we need the rain, however it did clear last night for about 4 hours, and was bitterly cold, minus one at 11,30 pm.

Anyway I was set up and thought i might have a quick go at Omega Centauri, I think it came out reasonably well.

20 images through the Tak, with the 5D, In camera darks, no flats, all at 40 sec's each, @ 400 ISO unguided, processed in Image Plus.

Hope you like it.

Leon sorry people, wrong image just removed it, will get back with the proper one.

Nice work Leon. No core burn outs with a smooth transition to the heart of this grand cluster. I notice some of your stars in the outer regions appear square. Did you get to the bottom of this - I recall a thread discussing this and possibly causes, but don't recall any resolution.

Keep up the good work.

Jase I am not sure what is causing this, maybe it occurs when I reduce it in size for this site, I had that trouble last time as well.

The original image is fine.

Oh bugger, you know what has happend here, i have quite a few of these images, and i have actually posted the wrong one.

The one your are looking at is the same as the last one, sorry.

I had better fix that, see if i can fine the right one.

Sharp as a tack right to the core, terrific Leon.

We haven't even seen it for days let alone try to image. Clouded in every night

Talk about a stuff up, the reason i didn't post the right image is because i have actually deleted the ones from last night, by mistake, and thought that the one i posted was from last night, but actually it was from some weeks ago.

I feel a bit silly here, but i suppose these things happen so, there wont be any image to show at all. sorry.

Leon

I'll have a go when it next appears

Hmmm, looks nice Leon

It does need some black sky in the background, and some stars would help. Other than that it looks terrific.

Hi leon.
Did you just delete them from the harddrive?
If that is the case you would be able to get them back by using a undelete program.
You can do this with active file recovery.
