you tube

Hi all

Just beginning in this but what started me was a video on you tube. Its called 'Pale Blue Dot' and is a tribute to Carl Sangen (not sure if i spelt that right). I then started researching him and thought 'wow..this is facinating'

Through you tube i also watch videos by an American man who uses the name trumatian. Hes just an average amatuer astronomer who makes short informative videos to help share his love of the stars & telescopes.

If you go to You Tube and put either of those names in the search they will come up.

Regards
Snug

Thanks for that snug

Carl Sagan is a bit of a hero of mine, and I really became interested in Astronomy after seeing his 8-part series called "Cosmos" which he put out in the early 80's (or thereabouts). If you can get hold of it, do yourself a favour and do so. I'm in the middle of watching it all again right now - twenty-something years later and it's just as good now as it was then. CGI has come a long way, but what the hey - it's the subject matter that counts

Apparently you can get the dvds of the cosmos series. I thought i would try the local book shops here. I'd love to watch them. He also has a book based on his essays called 'Pale Blue Dot' As you say it was 20years ago but the man says so much that is relevent today.

I hope to use it with teenagers and inspire them.
