NGC249 plus others

NGC 249 is an emission nebula in the constellation Tucana. It was discovered on 5 September 1826 by the astronomer James Dunlop.

Magnitude: 15

Apparent magnitude (V): 15

Constellation: Tucana



6 hours of data captured Sept/Oct, the central nebula is NGC249

Nice capture Trev of this little gem in SMC
Rarely imaged too
Well done !
Just got back to Sydney after 17 days travelling through the South West Cape region of WA. Only 1 half clear night and cloudy most of the time but a beautiful part of Oz I must say. The wines pretty good too.
You obviously don’t hail from that part of WA as you’ve posted images fairly consistently over the past year or so.

Thanks Martin, unfortunately not, I'm in the burbs of Perth, mostly Bortle 6/7 skies and with a very limited Northly sky
