very nice activity at the eastern edge of the sun - 23.10.2024 -

Hello Solarobserver,

Yesterday, in good atmospheric conditions, the beautiful activity on the eastern side of the sun could be observed. The instrument was very well adjusted and showed the full power of the 300mm aperture. Although the position of the sun was -11 degrees declination (maximum altitude around 26 degrees), the images were exceptionally steady and rich in detail. You couldn't get enough of looking at the screen. I partially enlarged the screen image to twice the size in Firecapture. Nevertheless, the details remained sharp and rich in contrast. Here are two examples, the rest on my homepage in the “Sun Gallery 2024”.

Hello Maurice,

thanks for your reply. It's amazing what is currently possible in Germany in autumnal conditions in the sun. This is not a matter of course. That's why I'm particularly pleased that this worked out. It can go on like this.
