Corona Australis Molecular Cloud

Hello All,


It has been a few years since I last posted an image here.


So good to see all the amazing photos in this forum....I have missed it!


Here is my photo of the Corona Australis Molecular Cloud.


Taken last new moon in August from ASNSW Wiruna, west of Sydney.


About 5 hours of 5 minute exposures......64 x 5 min subs.


Equipment used.....
WO Redcat 51
ZWO asi294mc Pro colour camera
Skywatcher HEQ5Pro mount


Software used....
DeepSkyStacker
Photoshop CS6

Great work Ross. The dusty expanse and different coloured nebulae provide for a great composition

That's a beauty Ross! So much dust, the dark Wiruna skies would'a helped there and indeed, the woolly Mammoth really stands out.

Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of dust I was able to capture.


Yes, Wiruna is still such a great dark site and relatively close to Sydney. Hoping to get there again this new moon!


So good to see your world class photos , now coming from a world class observatory, still amazing us on IIS!

Great pic! Your right mate, same piece of sky. I noticed you had the Blue Horse on astrobin. I have a few hours but yet to process. Bagged a few hours but really need more time. Trees and weather in the backyard put a halt on it.
