11th Jan 2024 Solar images

11th Jan. 2024
A nice clear morning and Sun with no clouds. The first image shows the position of the sunspots at 540 nm. The largest sunspot was AR 3545 which I measured to be about 50,000 km across. The second and third images show the Sun at H-alpha wavelength (656 nm). Some nice prominences and flares around the active areas.
All images are single exposures with a Canon 550d.
Thanks for viewing.

Nice images John.

I had a go this morning (late on the 11th UT) in Ha with the SHG as the seeing wasn't too bad early.

Looks like a lot less activity than I have seen of late...

Cheers
Maurice
