At least another telescope company has purchased it. Used to purchase a lot from Agena Astro back in the day but the ridiculous shipping costs they charge now make it impossible for us Aussies to purchase anything.
Used to be $20 up to a certain weight which was great. Now it’s minimum $65 shipping. Same deal with telescopes.net. In other works they don’t want to ship to us!
OPT was never the same since Craig Weatherwax retired a few years ago and sold the business to the Gibsons. Maybe they found running it too much trouble, or they weren't making enough money.
I'm happy that Agena is taking over as I've had nothing but great service from them. They also include honest information on their products rather than simply reproducing the manufacturers' advertising copy.
