Hi all
Tonight I used my 50mm f1.8 lens to get the whole Vela SNR area, with Houghys cooled DSLR
Oxygen 3 image, 4x15mins ISO400, Baader narrowband O3 filter, 50mm f1.8
Ha image, 3x15 mins ISO 400 Baader 7 Nm Ha filter, same lens.
O3 image for green and blue channels, Ha for red.
had a few goes at it as didnt look all that great. Still doesnt seem to be as effective as with the 300mm lens. Also posted the Ha and O3 image on their own. The O3 image showed little nebulosity apart from the fibrous tendrils of the SNR

I see you are using the 7nm H alpha filter. What would be the practical difference between that and the 45nm version sold by AOE? I'm going to try and get into CCD with H alpha and was wondering if this was the best way to go from a very light polluted site
Thanks
Allan, Id recommend the narrower one for light polluted sites. The wider one might let in too much light pollution. It wuld be better suited for dark sites.
Custom Scientific make an even narrower 3 Nm one I believe.
