How Aussie can one week get???

Went to my first dawn service at the War Memorial this morning.

Very moving. Very dignified.

Was great to see 30,000+ people crammed in there to pay their solemn respects and keep the Anzac spirit alive.

I now have just under 48 hours to go until I swear the oath of allegiance and take my very proud place among my fellow Australians at a Citizenship Ceremony.

To say I'm really feeling a sense of it all is an understatement.

Don't know why I waited 24 years to take the plunge, but I'm about to do it.

Very proud.

Thanks, Ric.

Had my ceremony today.

Am now 'officially' an Australian

I really enjoyed it and it was great to see so many people from so many different parts of the world doing the same.

I can thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone yet to go through the same process.

Congrats!

Having recently (Australia Day) joined the ranks of Australian Citizens myself...I echo your thoughts!

Why can't people born here get a certificate like that, or better still, why can't they jazz up birth certificates a bit?

Hi Lert.

I suspect the operation was carried out secretly when I arrived in Sydney 24 years ago.

Strewth!
