Imaged Saturn Oct 24th in good seeing covering 66 minutes of Saturn rotation. Have good data at all wavelengths, good enough to create animations at all wavelengths.
In the IR data I note a bright spot on the edge of the North polar collar at approx Lat+64.4 L3 2.4 I suspect this is actually a pair of bright spots but I don’t have the resolution to split them. A mid latitude bright spot “oval” is resolved at approx Lat+29.4 L3 54.4 and a v-bright EZ spot at approx Lat-5.1 L1 34.4. The IR also resolves significant low contrast EZ detail.
The R channel data doesn't resolve the polar bright spot but does resolve a dark spot further South on the edge of the NPR at approx Lat+60.7 L3 17.6 along with a mid latitude bright spot at approx Lat+35.8 L3 7.8. The R channel also resolves the EZ bright spot.
The RGB data resolves an interesting series of spots on the edge of the North polar collar, I measure a dark spot at approx Lat+64.6 L3 1.3 this dark spot appears to have less well defined bright spots either side of it. The RGB data also resolves a mid latitude bright spot at approx Lat+30 L3 23 along with the EZ bright spot but not as well defined as in IR. Both the 2021 and 2022 HST OPAL data resolved a series of ripples impinging up into the Southern edge of the NNTeB and these RGB data from Oct 24th also resolve an extensive series of ripples along the Southern edge of the NNTeB.
The 685nm IR and RGB polar maps well resolve the North polar vortex along with the vertices of the polar hexagon. Have a significant volume of data from this session; all has been uploaded to PVOL.
