Using Aliexpress

Hello All and Merry Christmas,

Does anyone have any feedback about buying from retailers on Aliexpress. I know that saying I got ripped off by Aliexpress is a bit like saying I got ripped off at Westfield, there are good and bad retailers listed on the site.

Currently one retailer is listing the ES 82 ep's at 20% off - "The outdoor shop" and lists the ES 82 6.7mm at $162 with free shipping, no idea if you get GHT (Gerry Harvey Tax) added on though.

Any recent experience with purchasing from Aliexpress site that people can share? Including which shop you actually used at the site.

Thanks
Steve

Bought about 20 items there over the years, never a problem. I could say the same about Westfield though. I seem to recall the name of the shop you mention, so possibly some of my purchases were from there. Too lazy to check though. Bottom line: proceed, with caution & apply the usual caveat emptor

I’ve also purchased successfully from AliExpress many times and from numerous vendors, with Astroshop the most common. I’ve never had a problem except for shipping times. Some items arrive within a week or so, others can take 2-3 months! So not good if you’re in a hurry. Also they don’t accept PayPal.

Sometimes you got GST tax, sometimes you don't. Most of the time, the tax will be calculated at checkout so you pay nothing at all on import.

Hi,

I’ve done 4 transactions in the last 6 months on AliExpress.

The first 3 were good, but very slow shipping .... 8+ weeks.

With the last transaction, the order sat in processing for about a month. I complained and they told me the goods would be shipped soon. A few weeks later I’d heard nothing and I went to complain again and found they’re refunded my payment and effectively cancelled the order.

So in all, ok .... and I would buy from them again ... albeit don’t expect fast shipping.

Paul
