Jupiter with Ganymede transit. 26 April.

Hi

To let you know another Ganymede transit and shadow transit is on for 26 April. This Tuesday night.

Diffrent from the 19 April. We get a Ingress as well as a Egress.

Times are EST. 26 April.

Transit Ingress/ 18.35.

Shadow Ingress/ 20.40

Transit Egress/ 21.01

Shadow Egress/ 23.13.

Well worth a look and photographers delight.

Next transit is early morning of May 4. Then not another one for Ganymede until June 8. Then Io will join the show.

Happy viewing.

Thanks Dave for the heads up on the double transit in June. Will look forward to that one. I have posted some images from last night with Ganymede. I already knew about that one but did not know about the double. Do you know if we are going to get a triple this year or not?

Paul not sure of a triple this year.

Last night was great. I enjoy these events everytime i see one.

It was great to see the shadow Ingressing and Ganymede Egressing, with the shadow following.

In my 8.8UWA it was very interesting to see Jupiter with its moons as well as 10 or so field stars. Very nice picture.

Photo's do not pick this up.

Through my 9mm Nagler, I watched & was mesmerised by the transit. It was one of the most fascinating things I've seen especially since the seeing was exceptional down here. Geez,I gotta get my laptop fixed.I missed a fantastic kodak moment.......
