ASCOM question

Hi all,

I recieved my 'lappy to hand controller' cable from Striker and now I have to download ASCOM to drive the mount from the lappy.

I have been searching the ASCOM site and there are soooo many options of which one to download!

I have been reading the ASCOM site for over an hour and still can't work it out.

Does anyone know which ASCOM I have to download to drive my Skywatcher EQ6 with Synscan 2.5a with my lappy?

Any help greatly appreciated

Here is the ASCOM site if you can try understand it all: http://ascom-standards.org/index.html

you will have to use the Nexstar 5 protocol Ken, the EQ6 doesnt have its own Ascom driver.

Ken just download the ASCOM 4.1 and the drive for the program you will be using to operate the scope, starry night, CDC, The Sky what ever, and you should be right. I would be surprised though if it didn't work straight of the bat with the 4.1

Just check the standard 4.1 drivers and if as Andrew says you need the Nexstar driver than 4.1 is all you will need.

I open it up in CDC and it asks which mount and scope. I tried just about all of them and got nowhere
