Jupiter 1 August 2019 on Meade ETX 105mm. No barlow ASI 1224 camera.
Just run this Jupiter image thru AS3 and Registax 6 so it is fresh of the press. It is possible I could be accused of having a Io fixation as it seems to be the moon I most often catch, but this time, I at least managed to obtain Ganymede's shadow after bolting my dinner down prior to an evening imaging session. Have not had much luck with Saturn so far this season, of course it is much fainter on a 4 inch scope and my tracking irregularities have a bigger effect but I have posted a lot of Jupiter images so time for some variety.
Nothing wrong with those images, especially from a 4" Mak, nice colour coming through, gotta be happy with them.
Wanted to image Europas' shadow transit and the Red Spot last night but , of all things, it co-incided with our astro club monthly meeting. Managed a quick peek and the seeing seemed good too.
I'm yet to capture Saturn at that level of clarity... hoping to give it a crack soon, if it ever stops frigging raining here when I have a night off work...
Nice double of the gas giants. The GRS on Jupiter is well defined. You captured a good amount of detail in both. Nice separation in Saturn's rings too.
