I am trying to make the best of some rare opportunities, where skies, seeing and GRS positioning are predicted to be favourable, and our OS guests are spending a night elsewhere !
Imaged early this morning, a couple of Jupiters attached, plus a Saturn. All via C11 @5.6m FL, QHYIILC, and the usual software (FC, AS, RS & basic colour corrections in PS).
Seeing was somewhere around Pickering 7, ie not bad for inner suburbia, but not good enough to precisely check/tweak collimation after a corrugated
road trip returning from a dark sky camp a month ago.
I need to work on these a bit further, later, as time permits, to de-noise a bit more and attend to some artifacts in Saturns rings.
so, a rare contribution from me, & happy to accept constructive criticism of my work-in-progress.
Thanks Domenic !
My C11 has been a work-in-progress to deal with severe mirror flop that changed collimation as it tracked. I think I have finally cured it by fitting a backing plate to align & support the main mirror. A story I must write up for IIS sometime...
