Hi $username

(You have received this IceInSpace update because you requested to be on the list. Honest! An explanation is at the bottom of this email, and also info on how to be extracted from the list.)

* Comet McNaught (2006/P1) has put on a spectacular show!

It's been a very big and busy week at IceInSpace, largely thanks to Comet McNaught which has been putting on a spectacular show for us in the Southern Hemisphere all week long.

It's still visible each night after sunset, now in the South West sky after about 8:30pm AEDST. The tail is absolutely amazing, spanning over 20deg of sky. It's something you just have to see to believe - we might not get anything like this again in our lifetime, so head on out and take a look!

You can get charts, maps, viewing guides, ask questions and see images on the IceInSpace Forum:

- Maps, charts, viewing guides: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=16334
- Recent Images and Pictures: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...=16333&page=14
- General discussion, questions etc: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...ad.php?t=16086

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome all the new members to IceInSpace who have found us thanks to Comet McNaught! We hope that you continue to visit IceInSpace long after Comet McNaught has disappeared from view. Have a look around, ask questions or contribute to any of the discussions on the forum.

* IISAC2007 over!

IISAC2007 was held over the weekend, in the clear dark skies at Lostock in the Hunter Valley. The days were very hot, but the nights were very clear! The comet put on a great show for us each night as 80-100 people looked West from the top of a nearby hill.
We had over 175 people over the 3 nights, which is a great turnout for only our second year. See the following threads on IceInSpace for more:

Thanks
Mike Salway
