Sony PSP - now with GPS-driven planetarium s/w

Released 7/12/06 in Japan - and only for Japanese customers at the moment. The software, "HomeStar Portable", relies on the new GPS for position and time to display your planetarium.

Having a PSP for (believe it or not) email and web browsing in bed, I've been waiting for the GPS so that I can use it in the car. Now that HomeStar is released I hope that it will be translated into English one day soon. It would make it a lot easier to lug your little PSP along to the field nights than pulling out the lappy. The resolution and screen quality of the PSP make it almost ideal for this application.

If it could be tweaked to talk to your scope via 802.11 or Blutooth that would be ultra cool. Looks interesting anyway....

Cheers
Chris
