North Casino November

If it is fine lets try Friday 17/11 and if Friday is cloudy lets try Saturday 18/11. Let me know if this is not suitable.
Unfortunately astro twilight ends late at 20:50.
I have a 12" dob now and everything is 40% brighter.

Sounds good to me Glen,

Are we still going to look at heading up the Alex place?

Did you see the deal going in the Buy And Sell forum, 12" dob with Argo Narvis $1000.00!!

break the drought

Alex is living in Sydney for a while.
Must try fitting my Magellan decoders to the 12".
Have only had 1 clear night since I bought it.
I think if everyone in Oz bought a scope they could break the drought!

northern NSW the skies have been pretty crappy : (

The 28 day forecast says there is a low chance of rain on Sat 18/11.
http://weather.smh.com.au/local.jsp?lt=aploc&lc=2960
Will they be right?
Fri nt looks better than Sat according to the above but its too early to say.

Here's hoping!!!

Are you going to catch the Mercury transit on Thursday? Have taken
the day off to try and catch it. Hoping this weather settles down
a lil so I can try some imaging through the PST.

If it's clear I should be able to catch the whole event from here. O'l sol
will have just cleared the tree line to the east.

And wolah! I might get a chance today, looks like it's going to be a
nice day!

yes I am in Sydney went back up on the weekend and back again. I had a similar problem Glen I remeber dragging it in and out in and out but that was the neat thing..you can. Got to covering the whole sky in about 30 minutes ..not even I go that fast normally but just to see everything thru it ..well I bet you know what I mean. Good luck with it and any Mercury Trans participants.

I hope to get back..maybe with a new eq6.. I just cant come to grips that I will spend more on a mount than I would on a car..
If it looks clear I may buy one on Monday but the way things are shaping up down here (Sydney) I can not see that I can continue my happy life up there as a hermit star gazzer... heck a lot has happened to the world whilst I was gone.

Looks like Saturday night is the best bet, if that is ok with everyone.
The last two nights have been good.
