Sydney/Melbourne Astronomy stores

Hi everyone, I'm on a business trip down to Sydney this Friday and will spend a few days there. any good astro stores I should visit? Hoping to purchase a HUTECH LPAS -P2 filter for astrophotography (and maybe a BORG 55mm f4 refractor)
Also, in Singapore the Sunday after. any good stores there?

Bintel in Sydney, but would not normally carry those brands. Shop front stores are disappearing unfortunately.

Buy online and save yourself the time. The downside is waiting for delivery.

You won't find much astro gear in Singapore.

Another store is Andrews Communications, they are at Greystanes about 45 minutes from Sydney CBD.

Singapore has nothing for Astro, but if you want photographic gear SG has plenty of places, just know what you want and how much you want to pay for it, else you will get ripped off.

Hi you can head to singapore science center if you want astrophotography accesorirs. For cameras like dslr, places like funan center at city hall will be a great place to start. Like all members said you can easily get ripped off in singapore retails shops. Just do some research on what ya after.

Singapore DOES have an Astro shop - Astro Scientific Centre Pte Ltd is located in the Singapore Science Centre in Jurong, about 10 minutes walk from East Jurong MRT station. It's about a 20 minute ride from the city by MRT.
It's easy to find using Google Maps or similar.

I spent a very pleasant hour there a couple of weeks ago talking to Albert and Jeffrey Lim.
Albert is the author of a number of astronomy books and is very knowledgeable.
I bought some accessories while I was there and was happy with both the price and service.
They had mostly Celestron and Orion scopes on display, and a very good range of accessories.
If you make a purchase, take your passport. They will process the purchase so you can claim the 7% GST back at the airport.

I consider them well worth a visit.
