Excellent Milky Way hub shot Jarrod, nice natural looking colour too, you have shown the variation in the red/magenta-ness of the various bright nebulae pock marked throughout too, nice job
@ Greg - I'll definitely do a pano around the region. I've been land locked for the last 2 months and the clouds/shift work is driving me batty!
You're so correct about the Sigma Arts. They are one of the better lens I have seen around. The 50mm Art is still my best. The 35mm Art has some coma around the corners but is totally excellent! (I hope the 85/1.4 comes out soon!)
Gotta say I'm still flat on my a$$ looking at this shot. The colors and details are just unreal. Never seen something quite that beautiful at that FL. Keeping it as a colour reference when I'll process various DSO at longer FL. That'll help getting the background color right as it's good to see how different the golden starfields are in various areas. Top shelf.
Looks like you might have captured Comet Panstarrs in that shot too Jarrod (just below and to the left of NGC 6188). Need to look at the hi-res version to see it properly.
I might be wrong of course but not sure what else it could possibly be.

Great Spotting Pete. I am so new to Astrophotography I can only spot popular areas of the sky... So I will be having fun playing Where's Wally as I try to get to the neighbourhood of NGC 6188!! ... Things I can do on the toilet seat!
