g11 utc/date/time

g11 users, i had to reset my g11, do i set my g11 on gmt and not local time and then add +8 to my geographic location?
pointing everywhere last night, very frustrating as i thought i tried all sensible combinations

No Problem Pat you need to use UTC / GMT time and date on the Gemini 1 here a link for Perth it tells you the UTC time and date http://www.timebie.com/timezone/greenwichmeanperth.php cheers Pete

ok pete so do i put my local time into the gemini and then put the +8 hours into the timezone? i am sure that is what i done but still not pointing anywhere near the bright star selection, and my "usual" bright sars are missing

hi Pat no you put the UTC time and date in to the Gemini and for your time zone +8 the link I sent you tells you your local time and underneath is the UTC time and date .

http://www.timebie.com/timezone/universalperth.php try this one and look in the top right hand side it will have Perth time and Universal time with the date Universal time is +10 hours to your local time let me know how you go

no worries Pat can I make a suggestion my best purchase for my G11 with Gemini 1 was a Star GPS works a treat and you never have to worry about entering the correct time .

that is a good idea pete! when you change the battery in the computer will the gps reset that to the correct settings do you know mate or you have to re enter everything yourself?
i will google the gps
