RIP Harper Lee

Harper Lee has passed away overnight. Mockingbird is propably one of the towering classics of literature. We studied it in 4th form at Melbourne HS back in the '70s and it is a book that I regularly reread. Wonderful writing even without the social themes. I can be reading it on a cold, windy Colac day and I am transported back to a hot, dusty Maycomb in Alabama. Great writing by someone who changed things for the better.

Could not agree more. Her one book was enough to make a major contribution to change in that part of the world. I will re-watch the dvd.
