First Attempt (Ever) - Orion Nebula

Hi All,
As the title says, this is my first attempt at anything like this before, and I must thank my neighbour for allowing me to throw my camera on his set up lol This is a stack of 5 shots (lights I think they are called??? Just the standard shots) and edited using PS CS6 to get the final look. I found the core of Orion a little difficult to try and even out and not over exposed, but I am sure there are better programs out there that can make life a little easier. ( I am a mac user, so DSS can't help me )

The 4 shots were around the 2 - 2 1/2 min mark and one at around the 1 min mark. I am hoping to get myself something in the new year to get more as it is truly amazing what is up there in the sky :-)

Thank you in advance

well done Troy - great first effort. Try taking some very short subs of the core (<30sec) and stacking them with the longer ones to get a better core.

Still, brilliant effort

cheers

Cheers Niko, I know there is a long way to go especially to the level that some of you guys are at, wow lol I will try and get some more and add to it, just have to convince my neighbour to let me tag along again until I can get my own set up :-)

Niko, well done indeed for a first every go, If that is a first one I can only imagine what you will produce in the future.

That's great Troy. It's a wonderful target to start with.

If I'd imaged like that on my first attempt I reckon I'd be light years ahead of where I am at the moment. There's only one way from here and that's up so well done.
