Waxing Gibbous with IR modded Nikon

Last month I did a comparison of the Waxing Gibbous moon using a Nikon D7000 and a Canon 1100D. See here:-

In the meantime I have acquired an IR modded D7000, and the weather finally cleared up long enough for me to use it at night.
I only got 16 shots and stacked the best 70% of them.
Processed in camera raw, then registax and PS.
I didn't think the seeing was all that great, but I seem to be getting more detail with the IR camera.
Is this expected, due to lack of visible light, or is it placebo, or processing / seeing differences do you think?

Bob, that is a great pic, it appears quite sharp the composition/exposure is great. I would be very interested in knowing the tech specs (f/l, exposure settings, etc) on this shot and your setup. I am hoping to head down this path slowly over the next couple of months providing the finances and weather allows.

Thanks for that.
I used a 10" Reflector (1200mm) on a NEQ6 mount for this.
1/320s at ISO100 to limit the noise.
I did use the exposure delay function on the camera that i have only just discovered having had a regular D7000 for 4 years, so perhaps that helped with any shutter shaking aspects.

I looked at Saturn just after doing this and it looked pretty ordinary, so i thought the seeing was pretty average, so i was quite surprised that i got the amount of detail that i did, especially as i only took 16 shots.
I might try again another time and take more shots.
I was thinking about selling this camera soon, but i'm tempted to keep it after this.
