Caught a Chicken at SPSP!

Hi all - well it has been 12 months since I managed to capture any data between renovating, moving house and terrible weather etc.

Finally we got some decent weather at SPSP so this is the first of my images from the weekend.
It's not as good as some of the other excellent renditions I've seen of this object on here and could certainly do with some extra processing but reasonably happy with this as a first cut.

24 x 60 sec subs using an un-modded Pentax K-5 through the ED102 (unguided). Larger version at Astrobin: http://www.astrobin.com/full/181114/0/

Impressive. Just shows what can be achieved with a good bunch of short exposures.

That's a real fine chook and well cooked at that. There's a lot if Ha colour there for an unmodded camera. Well done. SPSA was great fun this year.
Bruce.

Thanks Rodney. I've been reluctant to go over 1 min subs as I don't have guiding capability on my old mount. I did get a pretty good alignment at SPSP so decided to give 2 min subs a go on Cent-A. Yet to see how they came out.

Thanks Bruce. SPSP sure was fun and the reasonably clear skies sure helped in that regard.
