ファットボーイ

After a very long drive yesterday I have my little Tak at home:

I cannot believe nobody jumped on this scope when Arthur first advertised it a few weeks ago. As you will see from the pictures it is immaculate, the seller mentioned it had some scuff marks, I had to put my glasses on to see two tiny little nicks in the silver paint.

Nicknamed as ファットボーイ or Fatboy in English this will be my little travel scope. Fatboy is #89 of 2014 FSQ106ED sitting pretty in its case.

I test fitted the Extender-Q 1.6X (50.8) today with my Zeiss prism diagonal, Baader Quick Connect and Tak LE 18mm ocular. Managed focus easily with plenty of space either way.

Now the next ??? is what to mount it on .....

Very nice, Matt. Certainly compact, isn't it?

It's deceptive from pics, until you run into one in the flesh and realise how beefy they are. Congrats on your new addition!

Nice pick up Matt. Will this be a visual or imaging scope for you?

Thanks guys, it is certainly a beefy little scope, being short it will fit into the car a bit easier. I will use it mostly as a visual scope but may dabble in imaging once again. Last time I did imaging was on B&W fillum. I hear that digital is a bit easier.
