Being a member of IIS for a long time over 10 years some history of the IIS Vic star party’s well actually the 10th anniversary is coming up this year. I may not post like I use to but I still visit this site every day. This site has grown and Mike and everyone have done very well to bring all people with an interest in astronomy together. I have fond memories of those I met and spoken to over the years.
Back in 2004 / 2005 the forum was really getting started and NSW members and SA members where having get togethers. So in early 2005 a group of us decided to do the same here in Vic. So here is the very first thread

So there it is all those years ago 10 in fact. Members have come and gone. There have been lots of in fighting which I never understand! But I suppose I should being an ex-President of the local astronomical society of which you can never please everyone.

Hello to all those people I have met and who may visit this forum from time to time, I hope you are healthy and life is treating you well.
The good thing about our interest in astronomy is we can study it at our own leisure.
I know this forum is fantastic and done so much for Australian Astronomical community.
