fix my comet please!

hello members, discovered the coordinates function on my g11 and found out where c2 was, the g11 swung around and i was stunned when i took a quick iso short exposure to find it smack in the middle.............. that was the easy bit ha ha!
someone posted a similar pic recently
i set dss to comet plus stars and the blasted thing took two and a half hours to get this!
without clearing the file list i set it to comet stack and it looks exactly the same
should i clear the list, re add the files ad then set to just comet stack?
shame because i think the pic might look quite good
any help please
pat

Pat,
it looks like you have quality data there to start with.
Hopefully someone can chime in with DSS specific instructions.
Myself, I use Nebulosity, manually stack each sub on the comet.
I'm trying to learn how to do a combination align so that I get the best of both worlds.

In order to stack on the comet, you have to individually select each file and mark the comet position for each of the 70 pics.

I wonder if there's a short cut for that because I find it tiresome.

Yeah it is in DSS, I agree with Kevin it can be tiresome and more so if it is really faint but it looks as if you have a nice bright target.
Basically once you have it set in comet mode go through each sub and set a little circle over the comet.

This may be of some help?
