The xenomorph creator dies

Sad news for H R Giger fans (ME!!!) - he died on Monday from injuries sustained in a fall.

Yes, I know how b.astardised his ideas and ideals became at the hands of Hollywood, but the original Xenomorph was the most incredible sci fi creation IMHO, bar none. Most people don't even realise that the xenomorph is a DNA mutation of human, and it is apparent in the original xeno's clear frontispiece of the carapace where you can see the human skull. Unfortunately, this subtle reminder as to species origins is lost in Aliens onwards, but thankfully reintroduced in Prometheus (we won't debate the glaringly poor plot.holes etc, but if they had only left the original Fifield mutation in the film, more people might understand).

RIP Mr Giger. Your art was not lost on me, no matter how it may be contrived (perverted in many cases)

Yes, I am an Alien franchise devotee, but particularly the original and Prometheus. BRING ON PARADISE!
