I had a query about why I'm selling the ES 8.8mm and looking for a Pentax XF 8.5mm.
My eyesight has been worsening a bit lately (age catching up with me!) and I will soon be wearing glasses. I'm therefore re-considering some of my eyepieces with a view to increasing eye relief.
I mainly use the 8.8mm on deep sky objects where the 82° AFOV isn't as important to me as comfort. In fact, I struggle to see more than about 70° anyway.
The reason I want the XF rather than, say, an 8mm Delos, is that the eyepiece will also be used for solar observing in my 66mm scope, so I need something small and light.
