Mars April 16th

SPX350 F39.1, PGRFlea3, Baader RGB filters. 1138hrs UT.

Variable seeing with occasional short lived vaguely steady patches. Mars getting earlier now to image. Elysium and Olympus Mons are not too exciting to see, the preview was a fluffy mess to look at, needed CalSky to show me what Mars should look like. Not much ringing on the image now even in avg seeing - curious, perhaps connected with atmospheric refraction and phase.

John.

That's gorgeous.

(The seeing was all over the place last night, and the cloud that materialised, TARDIS-like, at 12:20am was no fun, either).

Nice image John even though this side of Mars is a bit of a yawn

Cheers, Sebastian
