Max Guider

An ADM Max Guider, pointing device.

I bought this Max Guider, in error, sort of, and when I got it, I realised I should have got the Mini-Max instead. Although OPT would have been happy to exchange it, I didn't bother and just ordered the Mini-Max anyway. The cost of freighting it back and forth just wasn't worth the effort.

I decided that I would just use the Max Mount with my 80mm Orion, which was piggybacked on my SCT in my observatory. However, as someone was chasing my 80mm, for some time, I have since parted with it, as I replaced it with the AT65EDQ, which is such a fine little telescope. I rarely sell anything, as it usually just ends up in the back room. I am heading to Woodhills Telescopes in LA in May, and it would be nice to have the extra cash for some more goodies.

The Max guider was too big to fit in my AT65EDQ case I had made up (see "show us your equipment" page), so I just ordered the Mini-Max and dovetails instead.

The Max mount will take both the 'D style' and the 'Vixen style' on the top saddle with a 'D style' on the bottom.

More information can be seen here:

http://admaccessories.com/Miscellaneous_Max_Guider.htm?

The following items are available:

ADM Max Mount = $399, including post in Australia (replacement cost is around $515, with UPS freight and the exchange rate taken into consideration)

ADM 7" (178mm) 'D style' Universal Dovetail plate( to suit Max Guider) + $55 including post in Australia

ADM 7" (178mm) 'D stlye' Male-to-Male (to suit Max Guider) = $55 including post in Australia

Farpoint 7" (178mm) 'D style' Universal Dovetail plate = $55 including post in Australia

These items have only been used once, with the exception of the Farpoint dovetail (still sealed in plastic).

Also shown is an image of the two Guiders compared.

More pics.

Also shown here is an image of my AT65EDQ with the Mini-Max, to give you idea of what the Max mount would look liked attached to a mount.
