Nice little group of galaxies

Normally I don't go this far north but I wanted to do something different so I came across this little group in Sextans. Not very much data so I might go back and get a little more when the weather improves again.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Peter and Allan. Perhaps I should venture into the northern sky more often.

Well fancy that, I almost imaged these myself the other night but moved on to the larger better placed target in Hydra ...shame, as your result shows they are really a photogenic trio

Thanks Mike. From Wallaroo you would probably do far better than me because I'm looking through the Canberra light pollution.

Nicely done Steve! Very photogenic. Definitely worth going back for more data I reckon.

Cheers, Marcus

Very interesting group, I haven't seen these before. And your image is great with lots of detail, also in the background. Nice one Steve

Nice one Steve. An interesting set of galaxies. NGC 3166 and 3165 are interactive.
I used to think all the good galaxies were viewable from the Northern Hemisphere but when you start checking out the lists there are heaps of good galaxies in the Southern sky.

Greg.

Thanks Greg. Actually these ones are in the northern hemisphere (just).

Thanks Rolf. I'm hopeful of getting a lot more data to smooth things out a bit.

Good image Steve!

Quite a bit of detail you have, considering the size angular size of these.
Like the colour too.

Cheers,

Justin.

Very nice

I don't often see that rusty colour you have in the centre, interesting subtle variation on the usual. Not a bad thing

Thanks Roger. I might have overdone the saturation a bit.

Great capture, Steve! The only other image I have seen of this is by the Chart32 folks. Yours compares very well considering their aperture and site advantages.

Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks very much Rick. I just had a look at the Chart32 image and I guess mine doesn't look too bad by comparison. I wish I had framed it better though.
